Character Bio

Stephen Hart was a former student and then research assistant to Professor Nick Cutter at the Central Metropolitan University's Department of Evolutionary Zoology. He joined Cutter at the ARC after they discovered an anomaly in the Forest of Dean. Stephen was a skilled hunter and tracker who had a good understanding of animal behaviour, Cutter once said that he could track an animal for days. Although a little aloof, Stephen has a good friendship with Cutter, Connor and Abby. His friendship with Cutter weakened when Cutter's wife, Helen, bragged that she and Stephen had had an affair before she disappeared.

Stephen's loyalty to Cutter and the team was tested in series 2 when Helen convinced him that Cutter's actions were endangering the planet. For a short while it appeared that he may switch sides and betray the team, but he finally chose the ARC over Helen and was killed by creatures while saving the lives of the rest of the team.
