Character Bio
Nick Cutter was an evolutionary zoologist and a professor of paleontology at the Central Metropolitan University when he, his research assistant Stephen Hart and one of his students, Connor Temple, discovered an anomaly in the Forest of Dean. Realising this could be the reason his wife, Helen, disappeared in the forest 8 years earlier, Cutter insisted on joining anomaly research for the Home Office.
Cutter was respected by his team and was especially close to Connor Temple, who he took under his wing and confided in about his suspicions and concerns regarding the anomalies and how someone was using them for their own gain. His worries turned out to be correct when it was revealed that first Oliver Leek and then later Christine Johnson were sending their own military teams through the anomalies.
He understood that when traveling through anomalies it was important to the timeline to change nothing, and equally it was important that they return all the creatures which found themselves in the present to their own times. His fears of the timeline changing were proved accurate when he returned from the Permian era to find that Claudia Brown had been erased from time and the team were now working from a dedicated building, the Anomaly Research Centre.
Despite knowing that Helen had been changed by her time traveling through the anomalies, he appeared to still trust her a little and gave her more latitude than the rest of the team, particularly Lester and Claudia, thought she deserved. Cutter's trust was misplaced though and he was killed when Helen shot him while she was trying to destroy the ARC.
